Prophetic Timeline Overview

Pre-Millennial Time Line

Old Testament Prophecies Regarding Israel - The promise of the land to Abraham (Gen 12:7, Gen 15:18-21, Gen 17:7-8, Gen 18:19, Gen 22:16-18), to Isaac (Gen 21:12, Gen 26:2-5), to Jacob (Gen 28:1-4, Gen 35:12), to Joseph (Gen 46:3-4, Gen 48:2-4), to Jacob's sons (Gen 50:24-25, Exo 3:6-8, Exo 3:17, Exo 6:7-8, Exo 32:13), Joshua (Deu 31:7-8), taken by Israel (Deu 32:45-47, Jos 1:2-3, Jos 1:10-11), confirmed to David (1Ch 16:15-18, Psa 105:8-11), remembered in the NT (Luk 1:69-73, Rom 11:28-29, Heb 6:13-17) the basis for the possession of the land (Deu 29:1 to Deu 30:10), the dispersion (Eze 11:16, Eze 36:19) the gathering in preparation for judgment during the Tribulation (Eze 20:34, Eze 36:23-24, Eze 37:2-3, Eze 37:8, Zep 2:1-2), their repentance (Eze 37:12-14, Zec 12:10-11, Mat 23:39, Rom 11:25-27), their regeneration (Hos 5:15, Hos 6:1-3, Eze 11:19, Eze 36:25-27 the regathering in belief (Amos 9:15, Zep 3:20, Eze 11:17), their reign in the Kingdom (Eze 36:33-36).

The Rapture - Is imminent (Joh 21:20-23, Rom 13:11-12, Jas 5:7-9, Rev 22:20), involves church age believers (1Co 15:50-51, 1Th 4:16-17, 2Th 2:1, 2Th 2:6-7), happens in the twinkling of an eye (1Co 15:52), at the last trumpet (1Co 15:52) this is the last of the Feast of Trumpet trumpets (Isa 27:12-13, Lev 23:23-24, Num 29:1-6), NOT the last of John's trumpets of Revelation (Rev 11:15-19), removes believers to the place Jesus has prepared for us (Joh 4:1-3), keeps the church from the wrath of God (Rev 3:10), turns the prophetic focus back to Israel (Dan 9:24).

The Rise of the Antichrist - After the restrainer is removed (Holy Spirit through the church), the antiChrist rises (2Th 2:8), confirms a covenant with Israel (Dan 9:27, Isa 28:14-22). Arises as the "little horn" (Dan 7:8, Dan 7:21, Dan 7:24-26), does as he pleases (Dan 11:36-39). Arises from world government, 10 horns, then the little horn (Dan 7:7-8, Dan 7:20-24, Rev 17:12-13, Heads a one world religious system (Rev 13:1, Rev 13:7-8).

The Tribulation - Is Daniel's 70th Week (Dan 9:25), applicable to the Jews (Dan 9:24, Jer 30:7), starts when a covenant is confirmed (Dan 9:27, Isa 28:14-22), detailed in Rev 6:1 to Rev 16:21) results in the everlasting kingdom (Dan 7:14, Dan 7:27), and the salvation of Israel (Jer 30:8-9, Zec 12:10-11, Mat 23:29, Rom 11:25-27).

The Bema Judgment - Bema Judgment (2Co 5:10) takes place in heaven during Tribulation (1Co 3:11-15, Rom 14:10, Rev 22:12).

Wedding of the Lamb - Wedding (Rev 19:7-9) follows Jewish tradition of betrothal (Mal 2:14; Mat 1:18-19, Eph 5:25-27) which is the church age (2Co 11:2). Taking of the bride or wife by the groom from her house to his father’s house (Mat 25:1-8) which is the Rapture (Joh 14:2-3, 1Th 4:13-18), followed by the wedding and consummation (Mat 22:2-13, Mat 25:10, Rev 19:7), followed by the 7 day feast (Gen 29:21-23, Gen 29:27-28, Jdg 14:1-2, Jdg 14:10-12, Jdg 14:17, Isa 25:6-8, Rev 19:9).

The Battle of Gog and Magog - Likely before the Tribulation, Russia and Iran, in alliance with several other countries from the Middle East and Africa (Eze 38:3-6), attacks Israel (Eze 38:11-12, Eze 38:14-17) with some Arab nations protesting (Eze 38:13) and is defeated by God’s supernatural intervention (Eze 38:18-23, Eze 39:1-6). Israel subsequently repents and is restored (Eze 39:25-29)

The Abomination of Desolation - At the midway point of the seven-year tribulation (Dan 12:11), the Antichrist breaks his covenant with Israel (Dan 9:27, Isa 28:14-22) The Jews are scattered (Mar 13:14-19) and many of them turn to the Lord, realizing that Jesus is their Savior. A great persecution breaks out against all those who believe in Christ (Rev 12:17).

The Battle of Armageddon - At the end of the tribulation, Jesus returns with the armies of heaven (Mat 24:29-30). He saves Jerusalem from annihilation and defeats the armies of the nations fighting under the banner of the Antichrist (Rev 19:11-21). The Antichrist and the false prophet are captured and thrown alive into the lake of fire (Rev 19:20).

The Sheep / Goat, Wheat / Tare Judgment - Christ will judge the survivors of the tribulation, separating the righteous from the wicked as sheep and goats (Mat 25:31-46), wheat and tares (Mat 13:36-43) good vs. bad fish (Mat 13:47-50) and believers and unbelievers (Mat 7:21-23). At this time the righteous Old Testament saints will be raised from the dead (Isa 26:19, Dan 12:1-2) and those righteous who died in the Tribulation (Rev 20:4). The wicked are sent to Sheol, the righteous survivors remain on earth for the establishment of the Messianic Kingdom as mortals, the resurrected church, OT and Tribulation Saints enter the Kingdom as eternal beings.

The Binding of Satan - Satan will be bound and held in a bottomless pit for the next 1,000 years (Rev 20:1-3).

The Millennial Kingdom - Jesus Himself will rule the world (Rev 11:15-17, Zec 9:10, Zec 14:9, Psa 72:8, Isa 9:5-6, Isa 16:5, Jer 23:5-6, Jer 33:14-17, Luk 1:30-33). and Jerusalem will be the capital (Zec 8:3, Joel 3:16, Psa 2:6-8), and a delight (Isa 65:18-25) for 1000 years (Rev 20:2-3), with righteousness (Psa 15:1-5, Psa 24:1-6), peace with others (Isa 2:2-4), peace with animals (Isa 11:6-9) and Messianic teaching (Mic 4:1-5). The character of Jesus' reign (Psa 2:9, Rev 12:5, Rev 19:15, Psa 24:7-10, Psa 72:1-20, Isa 11:1-5), co-rulers (Rev 5:10, Rev 20:4-6, Rev 22:5, 2Ti 2:12), King David (Jer 30:9, Eze 34:23-25, Hos 3:5), the 12 apostles (Mat 19:28, Luk 22:20-23), princes (Isa 32:1, Eze 45:8, Hag 2:20-23), judges and councilors (Isa 1:26). Israel will be exalted (Deu 15:6, Deu 28:1, Deu 28:13, Isa 14:1-2). There will be a Millennial Temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 40–48).

The Last Battle - At the end of the 1,000 years, Satan is released and leads a final rebellion (Rev 20:7-10), which is quickly put down. Satan will be cast into the lake of fire, never to reappear.

The Great White Throne Judgment - All those in hell will be brought forth, and all the wicked from all eras of history will be resurrected to stand before God in a final judgment (Rev 20:11-15). The verdicts are read, and all of sinful humanity is cast into the lake of fire.

The New Creation - God completely remakes the heavens and the earth. It is at this time that God wipes away all tears and there will be no more pain, death, or sorrow. The New Jerusalem descends from heaven, and the children of God will enjoy eternity with Him (Revelation 21–22).
